New Layout, New Beginnings
It’s been roughly a year since I accidentally deleted my website. I’ve been meaning to get the thing redone, honest. I even came up with a few layouts--one was pinkish and the other a lovely shade of creamy beige with a splash of green--but I was entirely unsatisfied with everything that I created. Fortunately, Crimson came to my rescue with this lovely bit of grey-tones and fancy code, and here I am.
You know, I think I forgot how good it is to have your very own blog on your very own domain. When Crimson (in all his kindness) uploaded his creation to melissah.net, I left it to sit a while. This was not out of a lack of appreciation but because I was so damn overwhelmed! I’ve had so much to say and no place to say it and then--BAM!--my very own space, all over again. Even this, my first real post in over a year, is coming in short bursts because I just. don’t. know. where to start. I’m rambling (newcomers will get used to this), hoping that getting the first post over with and breaking the ice, so to speak, will sort out all of my hesitation. By the time this is done and I’ve posted a few stories and an article I’m sure that ranting at a white text-box will come easily once again.
I’m really excited about getting this baby going. I have a place to be completely self indulgent and talk about me, me, me, a place to share everything that I’ve learnt about writing and the industry, and a place share my work, which is perhaps the most important aspect of this website. You couldn’t possibly imagine how happy I am to give those interested an opportunity to read my stories. Swoon.
But, look, as much as I hate to leave you high and dry after reading a whole lot of nothing, this is my blog and I can do what I want. Plus it’s 11:12 PM, and I have a job interview tomorrow.
